READY FOR AN ADVENTURE
70 YEARS IN THE MAKING?
SYNOPSIS
An Elderly woman with Alzheimer’s Disease convinces her granddaughter to spring her free from a nursing home to embark on an adventure 70 years in the making.
MISSION
SKIP ROCKS is a fellowship winning fictional short film centered around a family’s hopeful experience with Alzheimer’s Disease. Our film has the unique ability to serve as an instrument of social change. SKIP ROCKS can engage new interest from constituencies long disassociated with organizations interested in Alzheimer’s and elderly issues. Reaching these untapped constituencies is an important tool towards advocating greater support and greater awareness -- through building greater social consciousness.
“There have been many films made about Alzheimer's [...], but few of them
address it with the sensitivity and (yes) humor of
Brendon McQueen's beautifully shot and touching short film Skip Rocks.”
-Bilge Ebiri for
New York Magazine
“In a mere 10 minutes, SKIP ROCKS held me spellbound and brought up tears.”
-Terri Corcoran for
Well Spouse Association
